In February, the mayor of Brno, JUDr. Markéta Vaňková visited our Brno company TestLine Clinical Diagnostics, together with other members of the municipality.
At the beginning of the meeting, we introduced to our guests development and production activities in the field of biotechnology, in which TestLine, as a member of the multinational BioVendor Group, participates.
With regard to the current pandemic situation, the city management was interested by what means we are able to contribute in the fight against COVID-19.
In the field of direct detection of the virus, we presented a practical demonstration of the use of the high-quality antigen rapid tests produced by Austrian company AMEDA. Our company is a distributor of these rapid tests in the Czech republic and abroad. Rapid tests are characterized by simple use, quality processing and clear working procedure, that allows even lay use. Thanks to the exemption for self-testing granted by the Ministry of Health, rapid tests are also successfully used for testing in companies.
We also introduced to our guests our own development activities. We focused on diagnostic kits that are used to detect antibodies to COVID-19. We explained how this diagnostic works and what is its possible use in the current pandemic.
The mayor was very interested in the new Microblot-Array technology, which is a unique concept of multiplex testing of samples. We demonstrated the importance of post-infectious and post-vaccination antibodies in the interim results of the study. These results are also processed into clear outputs.
As a part of the company tour, we visited with the Mayor and members of the municipality the development laboratories and production facilities, where more than one million of ELISA tests were currently being produced. These tests are intended for foreign government contract.
